Yonni’s Redesign

For my final project in the applied UX/UI course, we were tasked with redesigning a website to enhance its user experience. I selected Yonni’s Doughnuts, a popular local business in Victoria. Initially, the website’s branding seemed underwhelming. Inspired by their charming logo, I aimed to infuse the website with vibrant appeal. I introduced a homepage designed specifically to engage visitors, encouraging them to either place an order or visit the store. I expanded a small image from their original site to dominate the homepage, which even sparked my own cravings for a doughnut.

Further improvements were made to the online ordering process. I ensured the shopping cart was always visible, reducing user frustration and minimizing errors. Enhancements included more intuitive quantity selectors, straightforward delete options, and automatic updates to the cart.

This project deepened my understanding of applying the 10 usability heuristics and emphasized the importance of user-centric design principles.
